1. Current Steering Group membership includes:

These members were elected by thei respective parish corporations and commissioned to ministry within their congregations.

2. The Stage 4 statement of task was reviewed:

"To facilitate the continuation of partnering in ministry of the Parishes of Grand Bay, Greenwich, Ketepec and Westfield and plan for the future configuration of ministry in the Lower St. John River Valley."

3. Expectations of Steering Group membership were discussed including the necessity of commitment to meetings, the role of the Steering Group as the "common mind" of the Project, and communication being a high priority in the group's work. Steering Group meetings, as a rule, will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

4. A suggested format for the delegation of tasks was reviewed and members were assigned to the outlined areas as an initial way of getting started. It is recognized that involvement may be modified as the Project vision develops and needs become clearer.

AREAS OF EMPHASIS:

A. Old Facilities. Craig Patstone
Current resource dispensation and re-use. Sale of current properties, time line, re-use of currently owned resources. Consulting with Diocesan Historic Properties Subcommittee and Steering Group membership.

B. Ongoing Community Building Events. Jackie Lohnes
Joint parish worship opportunities, activities, addressing existing community divisions and issues, spiritual unity among the existing parishes.

C. Financial Visioning. Andrew Logan / Keith Lane
Continuation of financial development and planning in keeping with the growing vision and Project needs. Consultation with other Steering Group membership.

D. Communication. Cindy Price
Keeping membership of the parishes and the Steering Group connected and current with developments of the Project with a focus on building a new community through good communication.

E. New Parish Vision. Debbie Black
Mission, worship, ministry, education, administration and leadership strategy of a new parish. Consultation with contemporary liturgist, educational expertise ... Mission to the community and the wider Church.

F. New Facilities. Gordon Brown / Wanda Porter
Exploration of current features and examples of church buildings and facilities. Location, parish geography ... Consultation with architects, liturgists, other recently constructed churches and other Steering Group membership.

5. There will be a meeting of the "Old Facilities," "New Parish Vision," and "New Facilities" Task Teams 29 April 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Welsford with Archdeacon Miller. A meeting of the Communications Task Team with Archdeacon Hall will be arranged ASAP.

6. The next meeting of the Steering Group is 07 May 2002, 7:30 p.m. at Hope Farms, Westfield.
