PRESENTATION - "The Process of Church
Design"
As directed by the last meeting, the Steering Group welcomed Douglas Kochel, local
architect, who graciously agreed to offer a presentation on the process of church design.
Mr. Kochel was the employed architect on both the new St. Pauls, Rothesay
renovations and the planned renovations to Trinity Church Hall in Saint John. The
presentation included details on the traditional approach used in church building projects
and its five stages, the staffing of a design team, financial considerations and, in
particular, options in the task of hiring of an architect. Mr. Kochel provided vital
information and the Group most appreciated his offering. A letter will be sent expressing
our thanks for both his recent visit and his visit to the Stage 3 Property Team last
winter.
