REPORTING
A. Existing Facilities. Jack Morris for Gerry Peer

the buildings.

Johns Church, Grand Bay and Good Friday at St. Augustines Roman Catholic
Church, Westfield. The preacher for Good Friday will be the Ven. Claude Miller, Coadjutor

fulfilling ministries in the existing parishes. A PWRDF youth event, "Side by
Side" open to all area youth is being planned for 31 May 2003.
C. Financial Visioning. Andrew Logan / Dick Black
The summary of financial assets for all parishes has been updated. The Team is contacting
those from the parishes who attended the Diocesan Stewardship Conference last fall to
potentially begin to refresh and build a team for financial development planning.
Archdeacon Miller pointed out that a regional workshop on this subject in June is being
planned by the Diocesan Stewardship Committee.
D. Communication. Cindy Price
The summary of vision and pre-parish meeting materials were circulated prior to the 30
March 2003 vote. Planning has begun for the next issue of the "The Rivers
Light."
E. Parish Vision. Debbie Black
The summary Vision was prepared for circulation and gratitude is expressed to those who
assisted with its preparation and circulation.
F. New Facilities. Gordon Brown / Wanda Porter
A summary of detailed information on past and current potential building sites was
circulated to Steering Group members. Land possibilities continue to be explored and
reviewed. Some inquiries have been made with other denominations in the community in terms
options for interim worship facilities. A future visit to the Parish of St. George to
explore the new St. Marks Church is seen to be beneficial and the Team will attempt
to organize a visit before the end of April for Steering Group members.
BUSINESS
1. Parish meetings 30 March, 2003. Review and discussion of
the meeting process for 30 March 2003 suggested some options for dealing with unique
situations that may occur. The format of the ballot to be used was presented, modified and
approved. The criteria for those eligible to vote is contained in Canon XIX. Scrutineers
are to be appointed at each parish meeting and ballots counted at the meeting with results
reported immediately.
2. Steering Group future. Due to the anticipated new focus
that will be necessary after the 30 March meetings and vote, vestries at their April
meetings will be asked to give members of the current Steering Group authority to work
closely with the Bishop in giving direction on matters pertaining to the intended new
parish and corporation.
3. Interim worship arrangements. Planning is beginning on
arrangements for suitable space for services from June through August. Archdeacon Miller
will co-ordinate with our Bishop in exploring negotiation with the Roman Catholic Bishop
of Saint John regarding options using of area RC churches. Space with denominations will
also be explored.
